Just from scientific curiousity it's interesting that I appear to have grown at least an inch sometime in the last 6 months... I had noticed a few littles things which I didn't bother to look into. (I'm 36 and I don't really care how tall I am anyway.) But when I fasted recently I just 'felt' as if I was growing. That strange sensitivity I've mentioned previously. I felt like I was growing when I was a kid and then when I was 14 I felt like I was unfortunately pretty much finished at about 6'4". Here recently I again felt like I was growing and my head seemed to be slightly closer to the top of door frames.
Then this last weekend I went to my cousin's wedding. I hadn't seen him in 6 years (which was slightly awkward). Last I saw him he was 21 years old and definitely a bit taller then me. Now, it really appeared that I was taller than him. Also my sister I hadn't seen in maybe 4 or 5 months commented that I seemed taller then she remembered...
I measured myself last night (with shoes on) and i was 6'4" and 7/8ths of an inch. This morning I got curious about the shoe soles, etc in the past I measured myself while wearing normal tennis shoes, etc. This morning I was 6'5" and 5/8ths of an inch. So I shrink 3/4ths of an inch during the day. (Same as my wife who also measured herself last night and this morning.) And I've definitely grown at least an inch here at the age of 36.
I'm curious what would cause such a thing. Really wonder about the fasting... I had quit doing it because it got in the way of the long runs I was trying to do every 4 days. Now that I'm just doing them every 7 days I shall start fasting once a week again. (Not as an experiment to see if I grow more, primarily just for good health, but shall have to keep track of my height just a bit out of curiousity.)
It's not so very normal to be growing at the age of 36.

The problem with politics is that if you're outside of the extremely narrow boundaries of allowable opinion, you just don't even count. If you're getting all your information from the mainstream media you probably won't be outside of this narrow range. But if you are outside then nothing you do is going to change anything. All your political actions are pretty much futile.
You're not going to stop any wars. You're not going to stop international monetary fund structural adjustment loans. You're not going to cause a socialist democratic revolution. You're not going to cause a restructuring of our mainstream media. It will continue to be owned by billionaires who will in turn decide what the vast majority of people are going to think.
One thing that's nice about Edward's Free to be Human is that he takes what was to me basically a political thing (Herman and Chomsky's media propaganda model) and suggests a way that any two people who recognize it's existence should be able to just in how they interact with one another, perhaps make some positive differences.
Maybe.
It's too abstract though.

Dreaming of fame. Sadly I feel more creative when I do this. Although rarely do it anymore. To dream of fame is like dreaming of being the/an alpha male. It's unfortunate to realize how much of creativity can be tied into such things. I think. I guess. But if one truly took away all such crude absurdities, would there be anything left?
There is perhaps some other way of looking at it. Fame doesn't necessarily equal alpha male ape at all. My thinking has been too crude. It could equal having the power to make positive change for example. Failure after failure. Not thinking well. Recognizing how haphazard my process is.

Ate a huge meal. Haven't fasted last few weeks because it was problematic with two hours runs.

Need to not forget to write about issue of stalking. What percentage of stalkees bear some responsibility? (Which isn't to say the futile activity of stalking someone is justified.) How come all I ever hear is stalkers demonized, said to be mentally ill, etc and no one ever speaks up to say that the situation can be more complex? Surely people realize it can be more complex. I think people are afraid that they'll be suspected of being a stalker themselves if they attempt to add any complexities to the issue. So instead they conform and shut up.

Fasting
Only fasted twice so far, last two Wednesdays.
Pros:
1. It makes my stomach shrink so that I don't want to eat so much and so often the rest of the week. Instead of wanting to eat to exploding I just want to eat till I feel nauseous it seems. And I end up eating much smaller meals. And I'm losing an increasingly sluggish feeling I was having. Also, when I'm stuck at work for 13 hours with nothing vegan but junk to eat, it's much easier to just not bother eating till I finally leave. Or just have a little juice...
So I'm feeling less sluggish.
2. I'm eating healthier.
3. I'm losing some fat.
4. It may actually be healthier. (Scott Nearing out in the woods-100 yrs. All sorts of studies showing less food equals longer life.)
5. Also fasting is very easy for me to do. I don't feel at all like I'm starving to death or weak, etc. I just feel like that's one less annoying thing to bother with. Or one could say it's an immortal thing (not eating) like running for two hours with ease. Or like a purification. So it's sort of pleasant.
6. I'm hardly wasting away to nothing. I probably still weigh 235 pounds. If I get down to 215 will reassess.
Cons:
1. The evening of the fast I get bad breath.
2. I've had insomnia the fast nights.
3. With a clearer mind I can see even better just how wrong this world is; which is difficult to deal with; feeling more and more like becoming a sort of hermit as a result; maybe would be better to drown myself in the distraction of food.
